Job summary:

The Red Hat Safety and Security team is looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator to join us in either Australia or Singapore (flexible location). In this role, you will serve as an individual contributor responsible for the internal consulting and as a trusted adviser for the company’s environmental health and safety programs for the entire Asia Pacific (APAC) region. You will accomplish it through direction, oversight, and policy development for all regulatory environmental, health, and safety program development, training, consultation with regional leads, project support, and major safety-related initiatives for risk mitigation for associates, property, and reputation.

Primary job responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations in a variety of international regions regarding occupational health of our associates
  • Develop, maintain, and support environmental, health, and safety programs, policies, and procedures with structured audits and consultation to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvement
  • Provide leadership and direction to internal stakeholders and Red Hat’s associates to evaluate, identify, and reduce the risk of loss through the application of health, safety, and environmental principles and knowledge of laws and regulations
  • Conduct or coordinate reviews of follow-up expectations and activities as appropriate; track corrective items on agreed-upon timelines to closure
  • Guide prevention and risk reduction programs to improve safety and health programs
  • Provide periodic communication to management on the direction and effectiveness of health and safety programs through operational metrics
  • Benchmark other company health and safety practices, programs, and structures; review other available techniques and programs to ensure continuous improvement of health and safety programs

Required skills:

  • 4-year degree or international equivalent in an area of study relevant to this position; 5+ years of experience working in multicultural companies within various geographical regions
  • Demonstrated experience and familiarity with the international safety arena
  • 3 years of experience working in a corporate environment, preferably in the software engineering or service industry
