Google’s Global Partnerships team powers extraordinary user experiences through partnerships that solve users’ needs, advance our partners’ goals, and further Google’s mission. Our team provides meaningful solutions — from helping publishers and developers grow their businesses through monetization solutions, to helping our long-term partners anticipate and navigate change in a way that delivers economic and reputational value. We build and distribute products through partnerships across a multitude of product areas, including Ads, Search & Assistant, Geo, Platforms & Ecosystems, Devices & Services, Health, Retail, Payments, Next Billion Users, and more. We collaborate across Google, ensuring a coordinated approach when engaging with our most complex and strategic partners.
The role: Strategic Partner Development Manager, Payments Partnerships, Google Pay - Singapore
Strong partnerships with key ecosystem players are critical to our mission of making payments simple, instant and safe for users everywhere. Google Pay is our core consumer payments platform that is currently live in multiple countries globally. We have launched Google Pay in APAC in multiple markets and are looking to grow our roster of partnerships to provide more utility for users and more value for our partners.
In this role, you’ll be expected to foster enduring alliances with our top partners, which include payment networks, financial institutions, regulators, digital processors, merchants and transit providers, to support Google’s payments initiatives. You are a relationship-builder who thrives in a fast-paced environment, able to independently develop and manage complex strategic partnerships, and have the presence and leadership to influence cross-functional stakeholders (internally and externally) to secure buy-in for key initiatives. You are an enthusiastic and a strong strategic thinker and will deliver on Google’s ambitious payments goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage direct relationships and drive senior-level engagement with key partners across the payments ecosystem on core Google payments initiatives.
- Drive and communicate partner engagement strategy and execution for the market, including the development of Go-to-Market documentation in collaboration with key internal stakeholders.
- Ensure partners are mobilizing around actual deployments/implementations and once live, engage with partners to optimize implementations and drive growth.
- Drive cross-functional engagement with teams including Strategy, Finance, Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Operations in order to deliver on key product area objectives.
- Develop a deep understanding of Google’s strategy and products across the payments product areas, and how it fits into the larger Google strategy.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or quantitative/business-oriented field or equivalent practical experience.
- 12 years of work experience in a relevant functional area (i.e. business development, partnerships, sales, management consulting, investment strategy, operations).
- 8 years of work experience in Fintech/banking.
Preferred qualifications:
- 15 years of experience in a relevant functional area and demonstrated track record of initiating, implementing, and successfully driving new business opportunities with partners.
- Work experience in payments industry, or on payments-related products.
- Capable of operating effectively in ambiguous, constantly-evolving environments.
- Ability to influence and communicate cross-functionally and across all levels externally.
- Comfortable and successful in a cross-functional environment; ability to work across disciplines and teams to create opportunities for partners.
