Senior Android Developer


Job Scope:

  • Develop features for Android application which meet user requirements and technical specifications
  • Ensure application code quality is according to coding standards and guidelines and have unit test coverage
  • Perform code reviews to ensure code meets user requirements and coding standards
  • Guide and coach junior team members
  • Participate in the entire application development lifecycle, through design, build, test, release, and maintenance
  • Attend essential client meetings and provide technical support when required
  • Assist in the application architecture and solution design to ensure robust mobile app implementation
  • Assess technical feasibility and complexity of features and provide advice and/or propose alternative solutions to the required teams accordingly
  • Collaborate closely with team members and other teams to ensure smooth implementation of features
  • Integrate and test application with backend systems
  • Maintain, tune and fix application to ensure it is performing according to technical and functional specifications; perform preventive maintenance activities and provide user support


Job Qualifications:

  • Degree in IT or any related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in Android development using Kotlin and/or Java
  • Solid understanding of core Android development concepts and MVVM architecture
  • Experience in reactive programming
  • Experience in application design and unit testing
  • Experience in tuning and optimizing performance of application
  • Ability to debug, troubleshoot and fix application issues
  • Experience in application release management is a plus
  • Experience in banking or payments industry is a plus
  • Experience in DevOps and CI/CD tools is a plus Experience in modular application architecture is a plus
  • Experience in project management and planning is a plus
  • Experience in leading small teams of 2-3 is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and remotely in an isolated working environment, possibly in a different time zone based on client requirements
  • Ability to collaborate as a team member in person or remotely
  • Ability to coach junior team members
  • Excellent analytical skills with good problem-solving attitude
  • Ability to work creatively and analytically in a rapidly changing environment
  • Flexibility to adapt to new technologies, platform, and robust toolkit
