The Talent

  • At least 2-3 years work experience in hands-on payroll processing functions, preferably with experience in both local and regional payroll
  • Experience in a Shared Service/high volume of payroll processing environment is a strong advantage
  • Good understanding of Service Level Agreements and ability to carry out tasks according to guidelines and policies
  • Able to communicate proficiently in English and Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin speaking associates.
  • Familiarity with SAP payroll software is a strong advantage
  • Background in Payroll shared services/payroll agency a strong advantage
  • Positive working attitude and a fast learner
  • Detail-oriented, organised and able to work independently/in a team
  • Analytical and good multi-tasking skills

The Job

  • Perform local tasks to ensure monthly payroll processing for local and regional payroll
  • Coordinate end-to-end payroll processing with respective departments to ensure timely and accurate processing
  • Check and verify records such as unpaid leave, merit increment, bonus, shares, commission and preforming payroll to compliance to local requirements using SAP system
  • Liaise with multiple stakeholders (such as HR, DM, commission and finance team) to prepare, compute and upload monthly variable payment (headcount - ~500)
  • Generate variance reports, headcount report, wage type reports and posting journals
  • Report tax (eg. resident tax, payroll tax and PIT) and social contribution (eg. superfund, SOCSO and EIS) online and make payments to the respective tax authority/board (direct debit, cheque, internet banking and bank transfer)
  • Support HR activities for other departments and external authorities
  • Provide an escalation point for non-standard cases referred and resolve within agreed service levels
  • Liaise with third parties (e.g. legal, IT, external providers and local authorities) to ensure processes are valid and reflect legal requirements
  • Carry out assigned task according to guidelines and policies described in process handbooks
  • Document business and legal changes for knowledge base and handbook updates
  • Follow guidelines and policies in managing confidential data
