Responsibilities

Main Accountabilities

  • Manage the overall planning, control, status reporting, stability and delivery of large / complex projects (multi area or product) to ensure that project goals and objectives are met within agreed upon time, scope, budget and resource requirements
  • Drive the resolution of conflicts and issues
  • Challenge scope changes to ensure benefit realisation
  • Own the budget of the project and performance against the business case to ensure benefit realisation
  • Function as a subject matter expert in area where the project manager has expertise (e.g. automation, specific IT systems, inventory control etc)
  • Build strong working relationships and ensure delivery of appropriate communication to all stakeholders
  • Obtain feedback from all stakeholders at critical milestones to ensure project efforts meet customer expectations
  • Manage project and commercial risks and mitigation plans and ensure these risks are proactively communicated
  • Responsible for managing and governing the DePICT project management methodology and risk management process
  • Act as a champion within project delivery for deploying project management and risk management standards, policies, training and development
  • Conduct health checks and quality management reviews to review performance, identifying points of risk and making recommendations for improvements that lead to risk minimisation and successful project delivery
  • Deliver best practice project documentation, completed to quality standards, kept upto date, available throughout the project and maintained in the project database
  • Lead the application ACT change management methodology and approach
  • Contribute and approve business cases and challenge the benefit realisation
  • Review project portfolio performance against the business cases and implement action plans to ensure benefit realisation

Finance & Projects         

  • Deploy previous lessons learnt output and feedback to drive continuous improvement
  • Promote and support changes to continuously improve project management in alignment with international project management trends


People Management

  • Work with project sponsors and stakeholders to forecast project resources and SME's required to support project pipeline management and deliver the business benefits
  • Support the development of the project management community and implement the people management strategy to deliver business benefits through: skills assessment, training programmes, processes and toolsets
  • Coach and mentor career team members


Requirements

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in logistics (desirable)
  • DePICT (or equivalent) project management methodology (essential)                                                               
  • ACT change management methodology (desirable)
  • DMAIC process improvement methodology (desirable)
  • 5+ years experience in project and programme management roles (essential)
  • Ability to lead and manage a cross country, multicultural team (essential)
  • University degree (desirable)

• Professional project management certification e.g. IPMA Level C (Level B if required), PMI PgMP, Prince 2 Practitioner, Managing Successful Programmes, Management of Portfolios (desirable)
