ROLE PURPOSE

  1. Develop / execute yield improvement initiatives aligned to overall global / regional priorities for the APEC, CN regions (e.g. Yield Boost related, via SPAs) 
  2. Proactively and consistently drive improvement to Pricing & Product capability & processes for the region; support Product activities as needed  
  3. Define / lead complex Pricing & Product related projects for the APEC & CN region (e.g. GPI, product rollout) and where needed for Global scope 
  4. Drive improvement of country Pricing & Product teams and be a senior expert resource to advice / provide expertise to the Pricing & Product community / x-functional stakeholders (e.g. FIN, IT, Sales) 

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Develop / execute yield improvement initiatives aligned to overall global / regional priorities for the                        

AP region (e.g. Yield Boost related, via SPAs) 

  • Design and implement global and regional yield improvement initiaties (e.g. 123, GPI) to improve yield over long term, drive execution in Asia Pacific countries in alignment with other functions / regions / Global  
  • Lead annual country Strategic Pricing Alignment (SPA) workshops with country Senior Management Teams  
  • Oversee Regional Pricing Scorecard on a monthly basis and problem solve / root cause issues identified 
  • Provide regular guidance on Pricing & Prodcut practices, revenue and profitability analyses; supervise standard monthly processes for in-country managers and analysts, ensure top quality for regional data & BI
  • Provide advice and regional inputs to cross-functional country / regional / global stakeholder to shape and plan initiatives / projects. 

2. Proactively and consistently drive improvement to Pricing & Product capability & processes for the region 

  • Development of tools, processes and knowledge databases to systemize Pricing & Product activities 
  • Development and delivery of training on the Pricing & Product process, tools, and techniques
  • Propose improvements to increase efficiency and quality of pricing processes, and support implementations  
  • Support country Pricing / Product managers on a wide range of tasks (e.g. tariff design, product set up, etc.)
  • Provide input to other parts of Global Pricing & Product (e.g. GCP, Processes & Tools) and other functions (e.g. FIN) as required
  • Partcipate in ad hoc projects as required 
  • Actively participate in the formulation of Global Pricing policy and pricing strategies
  • Enhance overall pricing and yield awareness in the organization.
  • Provide deep domain expertise and support to country and Global Pricing & Product members as required
  • Support Product related activities as needed e.g. related to S&S, product activations, etc.  

3. Define / lead complex Pricing / Product related projectss for the AP region (e.g. GRE, OMS, GPI)  

  • Execute complex business critical projects in AP (e.g. GPI) working with cross-functional and cross-geographies (country / regional / global) as needed
  • Define / scope / shape projects together with x-functional stakeholders (e.g. FIN, Sales, IT) as required  

4. Drive improvement of regional teams and be a senior expert to advice / provide expertise

  • Develop country Pricing teams & strong collaborative relationships with country and x- functional stakeholders 
  • Motivate / coach team members (esp in country, interns) to perform to high standard often under time pressure 


REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 5 years of experience in Commercial analytical roles
  • Demonstrated track record and in-depth knowledge of the Express business 
  • Familiarity / experience with DHL Express Finance and Billing systems will be beneficial  
  • Familiarity / experience with Business Intelligence and Reporting systems will be beneficial 
  • Very strong communication and stakeholder management skills 
  • Able to travel for periods (approx 30-40% of time) to DHL or vendor business locations, primarily in Asia Pacific
  • Familiarity with Asia Pacific - economics, business trends, cultural norms - will be beneficial  
  • Experience outside Asia Pacific, and ability to transfer best practices - will be beneficial 
  • Bachelors / Masters in business, finance, engineering or other highly analytical field is required  
  • Expert capability of modelling, data analysis and reporting tools  
  • Functional capability with MS Office Suite (particularly MS Excel and Access) is required  
  • Programme / Project Management experience  
  • Data analytics / data science experience will be beneficial
