- Will be part of the AS400 Tower support under midrange services, working with other Midrange Towers and system support personnel in providing AS400 technical solution. Role will be focused on BAU support and projects for the AS400 teamResponsible for systems administration, systems support and technical support for the AS400/iSeries environment.
- Work as part of the Technical Support Team to maintain and improve existing systems,
- Interact with all parts of the company’s staff to ensure that the organization's information technology needs are met.
- To deliver support in an efficient, effective and timely manner, fulfilling the business needs of the Prudential
- Security Administration and Access Control
- Day-end Batch Operations support
- Backup and Systems Recovery
- New Technology implementation and Capacity planning
- Develop policies and procedures designed to ensure the integrity of operating environment.
- Determines, implements and enhances standards on OS security.
- Performs monitoring, performance tuning & implements efficiency improvements.
- Backup planning and monitoring for applications
- Manage assignments, schedules, and deliverables assigned to the project.
- Device administration, File Systems administration, User administration
- Familiar with iSeries server, OS400, AS400 License Programs, Cumulative PTF, LPAR Configuration and Maintenance Server Utilities (Query/400, SQL/400, SEU, SDA, PDM, CL programming), High Availability Systems.
- Usage of 3rd party software on AS400/iSeries for eg. Performance Tools, MQ Series, Robot & PowerTech products, Life Asia, DataMirror, MIMIX
- AS/400 (iSeries) server technologies including planning and implementation of upgrades.
- Planning and implementation of OS, PTFS and 3rd party software upgrades
- Must be able to work as a project lead or as part of a project team
- Skills in multitasking and management of multiple projects at a time.
- Ability and Willingness to be On Call once a month; may be required to work off hours for system maintenance; Bi-annual DR testing.
- Ability to articulate, respond and effectively written skills. Good decision-making skills.
- Skill in working in a teamwork environment.
- Skill in prioritizing and balancing multiple tasks.
- Experience in multitasking and able to support systems outside Taiwan.
- Willing to get involved in core system migration to cloud project.
- Experience working with Application Management team and handle critical upgrades which involves around 60-80 IT technical personnel.
