About our group:

This group will be a part of a large Cloud Engineering Operations team that is currently involved in building, operating, and managing cloud infrastructure for Seagate and potential external customers. The Cloud Operations will support 24 x 7 cloud operations involving multiple data centers across the world and support the storage needs of customers. The overall storage footprint to be supported in these data centers eventually will be in the magnitude of exabytes. Within this group, the Monitoring team will provide monitoring support service, solution integrations, and monitoring application development support as applicable.

About the role - you will:

• Be responsible in supporting the development and maintenance of the Cloud Monitoring applications solutions.
• Perform Cloud operations monitoring requirements analysis, help design the solution and provide proposal recommendation, support & deliver monitoring application.
• Collaborate with and support 24 x 7 Cloud Operations Monitoring Operations team (known as NSOC), to achieve high quality monitoring services, resolve end-to-end monitoring issues with improvement initiatives, monitoring dashboard enhancements, conduct regular monitoring operation review, enabling solutions with effective preventive measures and problem management improvement. These include timely delivery of monitoring requirement changes.
• Perform regular and proactive monitoring system health check, operation maintenance to ensure the monitoring system & application tools are running at optimal, stable, scalable, and reliable state.
• Support application, systems infrastructure, and 3rd party software tools monitoring integrations
• Perform monitoring application tools maintenance, patching & upgrades, performance tuning, and application architecture upgrades
• Deploy monitoring standards and policies
• Derive and document Cloud Engineering monitoring operating model and standard operating procedures

About you:

• Skills & competencies in supporting development and deployment of monitoring solutions for Kubernetes, Networks & Firewalls.
• Skills & competencies in developing dashboard/status page development using Grafana/Zabbix/Tableau or custom webpages
• Familiar in Linux/Unix Operating System around shell/bash scripting
• Additional skills in Python/Ruby/PHP desirable
• Knowledge DB platform like MySQL and Postgres will be an added advantage.
• Ability to work independently and quick learning on the job
• High teamwork with ability to communicate concisely and professionally
• Attention to details and organizational skills
• Change catalyst with creative and good analytical skills

Your experience includes:

• Hands-on job function in supporting monitoring application development and implementation (Zabbix, CloudWatch, etc.) at enterprise environment.
• Knowledge and technology understanding of other infrastructure systems (such as VM and Storage, Network)
• Knowledge or experience of working with Firewall, Unix/Windows OS, data center environment will be preferred
